Cookie Policy
Last updated: 20 July 2026
This website stores nothing on your device unless you say yes. We use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used. It runs on every page, but in a restricted mode: until you accept, it sets no cookies and cannot recognise you or follow you between websites. It only counts an anonymous visit.
What cookies are
Cookies are small text files that websites place on your device to remember things about you — from harmless settings to detailed tracking of your browsing across the internet. UK law (the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations) requires websites to ask your consent before storing anything on your device that isn't strictly necessary. Analytics cookies are not strictly necessary, which is why we ask first.
What we set, and only with your consent
If you press Accept All, we load Google Analytics 4 through Google Tag Manager. It sets the following:
| Cookie | Purpose | Expires |
|---|---|---|
_ga | Tells returning visits apart from new ones, so we know roughly how many people the site reaches. | 2 years |
_ga_MZ4LVFNB7V | Keeps the state of your visit — which pages you looked at in one session. | 2 years |
These are set by Google as our analytics processor, and only once you have accepted. GA4 anonymises IP addresses by default. We run no advertising, remarketing or personalisation tags at all — those categories stay switched off even after you accept, so accepting never leads to you being targeted with ads because of this site.
What happens if you reject
No cookies are set, and none of the identifiers above are created. Google still receives a basic, cookieless signal — the page address, your approximate location worked out from your IP address, and your browser type — which we see only as an aggregate count of visits. It cannot be tied to you, does not persist between visits, and is not used for advertising. This is Google's Consent Mode, and it is how the measurement stays lawful without storing anything on your device.
If you accepted earlier and change your mind, we delete the analytics cookies already on your device the moment you reject.
Changing your mind
Your choice is remembered in your browser's local storage under ans-consent-v1. This is strictly necessary to honour your decision, so it is set either way. Press Cookie Settings, or the same link in the footer of any page, to change it whenever you like. You can also clear cookies through your browser's own settings.
Everything else stays on our domain
Aside from analytics, the site is entirely self-contained:
- fonts, scripts and images are served from ansstructural.co.uk — no third-party CDNs;
- no advertising or remarketing tags are installed;
- the enquiry form keeps no database — it either opens WhatsApp on your device or emails our office directly.
